About the Position
Full time Utility – this is an entry level position in a large flour milling plant in Mississauga, Ontario. In order to meet the requirements of this job posting, the applicant will be cross-trained in all operational positions to facilitate operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be able to meet expectations within a reasonable period of time
  • Duties include but are not limited to, material handling, light maintenance, and cleaning
  • Adhering to GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Safety Rules is essential
  • This position also includes general sanitation duties following established GMPs for our food safety programs
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be able to work from heights, stand, sit, kneel, crawl, and bend
  • May be required to lift 55 lbs. / 22 kg
  • Must be able to work in a variety of hot, cold, or wet conditions
  • Shift work, overtime, and weekends will be required
  • The successful candidate must possess good communication skills and the ability to follow directions and perform various tasks safely and independently in a production environment
  • The successful applicant will be competent when working with machinery, including the ability to safely troubleshoot operational issues
  • Basic computer skills, numeracy and record accuracy are also necessary to succeed at this role
  • There is room for further advancement in this role

Additional Information

To be successful, the candidate will be advancing towards an Operator position over time as business requires. Operators, with a recognized mechanical skill set, will be considered for a maintenance position. To advance to this position you must be proficient in all aspects of the Operator role and align with company based maintenance criteria.

This is a unionized environment and you will be subject to the articles as outlined in the current collective agreement, once a suitable probation period is fulfilled.
