Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assembler 1 will ensure quality standards are maintained for each product with a minimum of material loss due to errors.
This includes the ability to resolve minor component and quality issues, as required, the ability to identify difference in each product, verifying quality standard of each part, and verifying process integrity of each cycle per set up sheets. These duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Picking
  • Packaging
  • Assembling
  • Lifting
  • Labelling

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Perform basic tasks that affect product quality, while exceeding or meeting the required pace of production.
  • Operate basic machinery and perform a constant rate throughout the entire shift.
  • Notify the Lead when a maintenance repair form is needed, or replacement tools are required.
  • Maintain condition of work area to meet 5-S standards. Keep department and fire-doors clear of trash and other obstructions
that could hinder department performance/safety.
  • Maintain professional attitude while offering support to Leads, Supervisors, and Manager. Demonstrate flexibility and
willingness to assist whenever and in whatever capacity needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience

  • High school diploma of GED is preferred.
  • 1 year of related experience is preferred.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple
correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients,
and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these
operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal
with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is subject to Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force
frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Activities
  • This position is subject to the following physical activities: reaching, standing, lifting, and repetitive motions.
Visual Acuity
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures;
transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or
operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at
distances close to the eyes.
Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is mainly subject to inside environmental conditions; protected from
weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The noise level in the work environment is usually
low
