Job Description Unloads freight from inbound trailers and loads outbound trailers using handheld scanner as well as staging overflow freight for pickup by linehaul drivers at night as required Distributes freight to local P&D Drivers Marks materials with identifying information Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed Counts and weighs items to ensure conformance to the shipper’s bill of lading Starts heaters, placards trailers as required Arranges freight in specified sequence for maximum usage of trailer space Operate tow motor to transport stored items from dock warehouse to the trailer Must take an active role in safety and maintenance of the warehouse by sweeping the floor, proper storage of dunnage, etc. Typical Hours will be 1100hrs – 1900hrs – Split shift Monday mornings to unload LTL Use Manger pickup truck to make small rush deliveries as required Other duties may be assigned Qualifications WHIMS/Dangerous Goods Certificate/ Tow motor certificate ( These items are covered with in-house training programs) Developed problem solving, critical thinking, decision making and judgment skills Able to lift 50 lbs sometimes repetitive Ability to multitask and manage various tasks successfully Ability to operate our internal computer systems, handheld scanning devices Dependable and able to work in a dock environment in a safe and efficient manner while meeting timelines for departures Knowledge of the AS400 system would be an asset Willing to train the right applicant Additional Information Benefits – including short term and long term disability Profit sharing Scholarship program And more!
