Company Introduction:
T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 31 stores across the country: 13 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 10 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.


The Role:
Reporting to the regional Central Bakery Manager, the Management Trainee, Central Bakery is secondary responsible for hands on managing Central Bakery’s operation and employees in achieving the maximum level of productivity, efficiency, and profitability; ensure compliance in statutory food safety and quality assurance requirements HACCP, corporate policies etc; and contribute to the continuous research and development of new equipment and products.


Major Responsibilities:
  • Assist Central Bakery Manager with monitoring the execution of production procedures and staff’s working schedule.
  • Prepare and maintain financial, statistics and reports for Central Bakery Manager.
  • Assist Central Bakery Manager to establish production goals and operations budget.
  • Ensure operations integrity and production standards in Bakery Production Department (Central Bakery and in-store bakeries), including quality control system and supply chain integrity
  • Work with Central Bakery Managed and Party Chefs to achieve sales and production targets, execute merchandising plans including in-store bakery merchandising plans.
  • Assist Central Bakery to establish and manage production plan and protocols as well as to promote the Asian frozen dough and fusion line of products and other related products.
  • Supervise research & development and projects for all range of products, including fusion and frozen dough.
  • Plan and execute plant development and improvements and plant equipment performance integrity
  • Effectively address to the employees on performance concerns and disciplines as required
  • Provide and Maintain customer’s portfolio data and be the contact window of wholesales business.
  • Involve and provide information in system development if required
  • Perform any other duties as required by the superior

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
  • Have proficient knowledge in office administration with 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience or strong knowledge with HACCP
  • Must demonstrate good communication skills; able to build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders (verbally and written) in English. Knowledge in Chinese (Cantonese &/or Mandarin) is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, food production environment
  • Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye on details; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Possess positive and ‘can do” attitude, ability to handle pressure well
  • Demonstrates a keen sense of urgency and commitment to follow up and meet multiple deadlines without compromising on work quality
